Prayer request for a dying saint
Yesterday (Friday) we received this e-mail from Arlene LaFrance. I met her and her husband Gene growing up in Michigan, as we lived in the same town and attended the same church. I once fed their pets when they were away on vacation.
After having lost touch for some 20 years, we got reconnected in the mid-1990s through a common friend, Joan Gilbert. In 1999, we visited the fellowship in Florida that they started, the Full Gospel Bible Teaching Fellowship. The LaFrances and this church have faithfully encouraged and supported our work the past 6 years.
Pastor Gene isn't doing very well physically right now, according to the following letter from Arlene, which says:
PLEASE PRAY FOR PASTOR EUGENE LA FRANCE
Eugene is very sick. He is dehydrated and suffering from infection, among other things and He is very weak.
We just ask that you pray for his deliverance, and that God has His way. We have given Gene's life to Jesus, and Gene has given his life to Jesus. Gene has written about 200 lessons uplifting people to know and love Jesus. We have a merciful God, and we know that He will be kind to his servant, Gene; that he will not suffer.
If it be God's will at this time that full life be restored to Gene, we will give Him all of the glory.
If it be God's will at this time to take Eugene home, we will still give Him all of the glory, that Jesus began a good work in Gene and Jesus finished it. Hallelujah!
Thank you all for your prayers and love.....
..Arlene La France
It sounds like, unless the Lord intervenes in this situation, he may die soon. It also sounds like Arlene has peace about the situation. This calm in the midst of a life storm like this is very impressive. May the Lord do what is best in this situation and minister His peace to all the family members. Our thoughts are with Arlene, Valerie, Bernie, and Philip at this time.
