"We Delight" by Joshua Moore of Caedmon's Call
Earlier this evening my wife looked at my pile of papers on the dining room table and said that I looked like I was working on a bunch of projects at the same time. That accurately summarizes the nature of my day.
I've been working on registrations for the European Artists Encounter in Paris June 17-19 and for the Mission Radicale youth conference July 6-9 in Normandy. I'm encouraged by the number of preregistrations that we already have. We have 34 people registered for the arts conference, which doesn't include the registrations taken by Creative Arts Europe (in Belgium), as well as the fact that artists often don't register early. For Mission Radicale, we have 43 already, without including the leaders, musicians, speakers, seminar leaders, and prayer team members.
I've also been sending more e-publicity for the arts event, which will hopefully yield more participants, particularly young ones.
I've been in correspondance with Bob Tolliver, a pastor leading an international church in Kiev, Ukraine. It's great getting to rub shoulders (in a cyberspace fashion) with other passionate followers of Jesus working in other harvest fields. He and Joann are launching out in faith and will need $20,000 to have this come to fruition. I think that God will honor their faithful obedience and bless their young congregation through it.
Yesterday and today, I've been listening to the Caedmon's Call CD "In the Company of Angels: A Call To Worship." While I've heard of this group for awhile, I finally am getting around to listening to this CD, which we probably obtained in fall 2002 and are finally getting around to listenng to. One disadvantage of being outside of North America is not having as much exposure to a lot of the new songs right away.
I really like the first song, "We Delight" by C.C. band member Joshua Moore. In some branches of the Church, the aspect of delighting in God is missing in a practical sense. Without this existential experience in delighting in God, what's the point? Where is the beauty and desirability of the Christian faith without it? It's really not hard to share with others something or someone whom we delight in.
My 16 month daughter also enjoys this song and likes us to waltz with her when she hears it. I think she already is feeling what it means to delight in God and worship Him naturally.
We Delight (words and music by Joshua Moore)
We delight in the law of your Word
We delight in the Son who was perfect from birth
We delight in the day He's returning to earth
Hallelujah, hallelujah
We will bow our hearts because we are free
As we raise our hands to give You glory
Father of life and love and infinite worth
We're delivered by blood that flows from the one
Draw us near to You, vessels of Your mercy
Before the invention of man...the glorious trinity
We will life our eyes to the cloud and the flame
Lord, You guide our steps and restore us again
The nations of man will rejoice in the God of the wilderness
