Countdown: 2 days

I can tell how busy life is getting by the number of days between blog entries. This week has ended up being super busy because of different sicknesses of all 3 females in our family. Fortunately, we were quite ahead in a number of areas earlier in the week. However, the goal of a relaxing Friday before our Saturday departure appears impossible now.

My wife, son, and younger daughter are with our son's classmate Merlin, his mother, and younger sister. They are moving to the Alps region of France this summer, so we won't be regularly seeing them after tomorrow. Seeing people come and go is part of life and ministry in Paris. But it's still sad. The mother is spiritually seeking, but not in the well that gives living water. Hopefully there will be other pilgrims whom God brings across her path and who keep pointing to Jesus.

I've spent some time this week trying to do a video showing our heart for and work in Paris. While doing this, God has reminded me of my growing heart for the people in our neighborhood. I really like being with them.

While hanging out laundry a couple of minutes ago, the song ELEVE-TOI by the Toulouse, France based group FLAMME popped into my head. After finally locating the CD it is on, I cranked it up. My nearly 4 year old daughter, who stayed home from school today due to a fever, started singing more and more of the words with each verse. FLAMME is one group that should tour the U.S. and have more of its words translated.

That's why we're here: to lift up God here. It's easy to forget that in the midst of life's busyness.

Got to close, as the family has arrived back.
