Elizabeth

Today our family was graced by not just our Elizabeth (also known to us as "Little Bitty," ''Elizabusy," "Miss Bitty," "Miss Bits," etc.), but also another Elizabeth. The visiting Elizabeth is a Wheaton College student who did a 2 week internship in Paris with us as a high school senior in January 2005. Her dad was one of my professors at Wheaton. She's her for the Wheaton in France summer study program that is her every other summer. 2 years ago, the Wheaton in France team was based in Paris and helped with the summer Mission Radicale youth conference.

Elizabeth is one of the most impressive young women who has been in our home. Why do I feel this way? Some of her good qualities include steadiness, flexibility, helpfulness, confidence, and social maturity. I certainly hope that my 3 children grow in these qualities and desire to help them to do so.

Elizabeth helped me take our older 2 kids to the pool this afternoon. I noted that they were both gaining confidence in being in the water. These sessions aren't intentional swim lessons. However, as they gain more confidence and try new things, they are gradually progressing to the point of being able to swim.

We enjoy having friends like her pop back into our lives as they pass through Paris. They help us remember how much our kids have grown and progressed as we recall our previous get togethers and the ages of the kids then.
