Leader Servants II
This morning we did our weekly pool time with the kids. It's amazing how much progress they make from week to week. Nicole would have won the congeniality award today, as I saw her talking with lots of people. We've both noticed lots of great changes in her since she's been doing the Torrents of Hope course. She claims that it's been a type of "spring cleaning" for her.
Our friend Marion came over for a couple of hours to help us get ready for my parents' arrival on Thursday. She is a German businesswoman who lives in our neighborhood and whom we met at St. Michael's Church in the 1990s. She has started a company called "Fit for Paris" (http://www.fitforparis.com) that helps expatriate women get adapted to life in Paris. Nicole looks forward to my night meetings out, as that gives her an excuse to invite Marion over for a "Girl's Culture Club" meeting of a DVD movie and ice cream. Marion has become part of our Paris family and Joel calls her "Aunt Marion." When Nicole and I do get an occasional date night, it's usually due to Marion's generosity in coming over to watch the kids. She served us again today with her mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing.
Another person for whom we're thankful is Rick Knox, the associate Western Europe director for our agency. He and Beth are real encouragers. They are currently in Brecon, Wales, but will resettle in Chicagoland next month. His blog is http://thewriteangle.blogspot.com.
Rick put me on to a telecommunication service called Skype . Skype(www.skype.com). allows one to telephone other Skype members for free. Yes, absolutely nothing! I was skeptical about this when downloading the program after Rick's recommendation. But we were able to talk today after I plugged a microphone into our computer. If any of you reading this have ADSL lines, please download the free program and telephone us at our skype address: alcoleferia.
