Redeeming the arts: The restoration of the arts to God's creative intention

In the craziness of the past couple of weeks, I haven't had much time to read or reflect on the arts. However, I did see lots of talented young people discover and develop skills at hip hop dance, modern jazz dance, banner creating and waving, vocal and instrumental worship music, theatre, and gospel imagery at the July 5-9 Mission Radicale youth conference. Be sure to visit the Thursday and Friday photos of the conference web page to see photos of this creative expression. I've finished Thursdays photos and hope to upload Friday's photos (there will be a boatload of them) today.

Today I came across a fascinating paper produced after the Sept. 29-Oct. 5, 2004 consultation in Thailand of a work of group of people engaged in arts ministry. Jim Beise of la Fonderie was one of those present. The paper that was produced afterwards by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization is titled "Redeeming the Arts: the Restauration of the Arts to God's Creative Intention."

It has an excellent biography at the end of arts resources. Happy reading!
