Last Session of the Fonderie; Happy Birthday Mom

Tonight was the last session of a 5 week series of La Fonderie. Jim Beise was a busy man tonight, as he not only led the meeting and gave the talk, but also cooked the meal, a delicious Irish Stew. The weather is getting cooler now, so the stew tasted especially good.

It was a good evening. One new person commented afterwards how great it is in the Body of Christ that people can have an immediate bond of fellowship. I enjoyed getting to now some of the people better during discussions around the meal. This dimension of sharing a meal and talking together is often missing on Sunday morning services.

Today was another birthday for my mother. I didn't get the chance to talk over the phone with her, as she was away when I called.

During the summer conference in the Netherlands of our mission, Mary Socall, one of the children's workers, gave all the parents a handout. It contains excerpts from the book Lord Bless My Childby William and Nencie Carmichael that she translated.
