Son's 4th birthday party
This afternoon we held our son's 4th birthday party. Due to his having the chicken pox last week, we had to reschedule it from last week to today. We lost several of the original invitees, due to this week being a school break. However, it would have been quite stressful to try to pull it off on what turned out to be the day before Elizabeth's birth.
We had help from Martine, a woman from the our church. Our friend Neil from Boston is here for in Paris for a month with some students from his high school taking French. He recruited two of them, Tommy and Claire, to help.
In the end, 3 of our son's classmates came. This ended up being a good number for the help and the size of the apartment that we have. Two came with their parents, while the other was dropped off by her dad. In addition to the kids enjoying being together, we enjoyed getting to know the parents a little better.
My wife and I were exhausted after the party ended. Along with the delivery of our daughter, the party was weighing on us for the last couple of weeks. The party was worth doing. We should get a good night's sleep now.
