Opening night of le pavé d'Orsay, Midnight Pizza

Tonight was like a dream. Part of this because I was very tired going to the 8:30 p.m. opening night concert of le Pavé d'Orsay, the recently renovated center of la Fonderie's ministries. I didn't feel well going there and honestly wasn't happy about going, even though I knew that it was the right thing. Our friend Marion came over to help my wife with the kids.

Tonight's concert was by Geordie MacKay and sponsored by Gramophone. He is a Canadian singer/songwriter who currently lives in Budapest, where his wife trains as a world class fencer.

The concert went well. I knew his music from last Monday's concert at Belleville and like his easy going style. His voice is like Phil Collins. He was accompanied by a cellist named Philippe and jazz singer Marie Breton.

The atmosphere in the room was fun. The room looks beautiful. As my memory was flashing back to what it looked like during the negociations last autumn, it really is an amazing work of God to see this room.

I took mostly video there, with a few photos on my old friend camera. While walkint back to the metro, I was able to film scenes like several lighted tour boats, Notre Dame, the Louvre Pyramid, etc. Hopefully some of these will be useful data for future films and videos.

After getting to the closest metro stop, I walked home. Just around the corner, I saw the man in the pizzeria who served our group last Monday. I knocked on the door just to say hello. I ended up sitting down with him and sharing his pizza. We went from the "vous" (formal) to "tu" (informal) in the course of the conversation. Jilani is a nice and generous man from North Africa. I hope we get to know him better in the future.

Now, I'm exhausted, but happy with my full tummy and pleased about how the whole evening went. Merci Seigneur.
