Easter weekend: Can God save a nation?
It's Saturday afternoon and we're getting ready for some of our kid's' friends and their parents to come over to color Easter eggs. Then tomorrow, we have at least 9 guests coming over for Easter lunch. So it's busy and this is the calm before the storm.
This is Easter weekend. The Saturday of Passion week is the one full day when Jesus' body was in the tomb after his crucifixion. So this quiet time is representative of the long time of waiting for Jesus' friends and disciples after His death.
I had the urge to get up my old Delirious "Live in a Can" album that I bought in 1996 after visiting England and being first introduced to their sound. Now, 11 years later, Delirious is world renowned, at least in the Christian world.
After the word from Chuck Pierce about the God doing some big things in France during the next 3 years, I've done lots of thinking about this, as well as how it might look. I don't know.
But the Delirious song "Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?" on this album describes where my heart is on this. Because this is a live album, it has some spoken words between songs. Before this song, there is some quiet instrumental music, followed by these words: "Is it true that God can save a nation? Well is it true, I must believe it. Is it true that God can break a nation? Yes it's true and I feel it."
May it be so for France!
Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble?
Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one
Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one
And we can see that God you're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord
Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice
Did you feel the darkness tremble?
When all the saints join in one song
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokeness
And here we see that God you're moving
A time of Jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord
