Armistice Day/Veterans Day and Paris Christmas lights
Today is Armistice Day, a national holiday in France. We enjoyed a relaxing day, the highlight of which was looking at Christmas lights and decorated windows in downtown Paris at the Samaritain and Galerie Lafayette stores on Boulevard Haussmann. The kids loved it. It reminded me of the day after Thanksgiving (sometimes called "Black Friday") in the U.S.
I worked as well on a monthly newsletter responding to people's requests about how we were doing with the Paris riots and everything else. That should get finished and sent off tomorrow.
Enjoyed skyping with my parents tonight. Several of my friends have lost their fathers this month. I'm glad to still be able to talk with both my parents.
