Weekly staff meeting

This morning I took minutes at our church's weekly work team staff meeting. Some meetings are encouraging and others less encouraging. This was a positive one.

One encouraging thing was an awareness of a need to step out of our cocoon, both as individuals and as a church. Pastor Serge was at the Centre Evangélique yesterday (for the first time)and seemed to appreciate it. One danger of bigger churches is the tendency sometimes to feel complete in themselves and, consequently, to not participate in events that draw a wider variety of churches. But different churches need each other too.

Starting Thursday, there will be a number of Americans from Washington State and some English coming to help at meetings on the theme of hearing the voice of God. Ironically, I fly to the U.S. for this weekend, while they are flying this direction. It will be interesting to hear what happens over the weekend.

Last Sunday, Pastor Werner preached on the 7 churches of Revelation 2 and 3. He then raised a very good question: Which of the 7 churches is ours most like?
