Welcome (back)

When I looked in my son's classroom at school dropoff this morning, I was thrilled to see that his teacher Evelyne was back. She has been away for quite awhile on medical leave. In France, medical details are a lot more private than in the U.S. Thus, specific info on what ailment she had was not publically revealed. However, there was a sign several weeks ago that said that she was "seriously ill."

Danielle and another woman who regularly substituted for Evelyn did a fairly good job filling in for her. But it's nice to have just one teacher all the time for the sake of consistency.

We have been praying for Evelyne and believe that our prayers had a least a small part in her getting better. We pray for all the women working at the school. They do all seem to care for the children and probably aren't getting paid very much for their conscientious efforts.

Speaking of welcomes, we learned that our friends Lena and Dave in NJ had their first child, Evan David, last Wednesday. Another great piece of news is that our IL friends Kirsten and Kyle are expecting their first child in late September. Our MN friends Jenn and Keith had their 3rd son recently as well.
