Easter weekend summary

Ouf! What a busy weekend!

Yesterday afternoon we had 8 peers of our oldest 2 kids, plus 1 toddler and 6 adult family members, participate in an Easter egg coloring party in our apartment. The guests came from the following nations: Algeria, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mali, Tunisia, as well as France. Including ourselves, we all represented 5 of the 6 populated continents. Around 80 eggs were decorated yesterday.

Today, after the morning worship service, we had 12 guests for lunch. During the service, I had the impression that we should invite more people than we already had. So, our party ended up increasing by 3 people. Of our guests, I think that 6 were first timers at our place. This changed our style from a sitdown dinner around the table to a buffet style with people sitting all around our living room. We had plenty of food, although I needed to buy more meat early this afternoon. We had a huge amount of dessert.

In between these 2 events, our 14 month old fell in our entryway and cut her forehead. Blood gushed out pretty quickly at the start and my wife had to take her into the the E.R. room at a local hospital. She already knew the way, as she took our son there last year after he cut himself. Our daughter got 3 stitches and currently has a couple of bandaids on her forehead.

We're pretty tired right now between all these events. The injury was a reminder that we need to remain constantly alert spiritually, especially during very busy times, and provide spiritual covering and protection for our children.
