Hearing test results

My wife took our 5 year old son for a medical visit with a hearing specialist. When the doctor looked inside our son's ears, he saw fluid in place of where air usually is in the canal next to the ear drums. He estimated that this might have been causing up to 40% hearing loss. My wife was relieved to hear that there was a hearing problem that has been part of the reason for some of his difficulties at school, as well as in pronouncing certain words.

The doctor prescribed some medicine that is supposed to help the drainage of the fluids in his ear canals. He'll have another exam in late June and may possibly need some relatively minor surgery about this after we get back this summer.

Tomorrow we're taking him to meet with a French pastor with some spiritual discernment, to look at some of the possible spiritual factors playing a part in his overall situation.
