Live from Grand Rapids, Michigan
Last evening (Thursday June 14), we arrived at Linn & Sharon's home in Grand Rapids, Michigan after an adventuresome drive from Elgin, Illinois that included major traffic around the Illinois/Indiana border, an unscheduled stop due to our 16 month old's explosive bowel movement in her car seat, and a stopover in Brookfield, Illinois to pick up shoes that we left.
Today (Friday June 15) we went to the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. This is apparently the 2nd most visited tourist site in Michigan after the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. It is a combination of an art gallery with lots of modern art sculptures, a fun children's area, and a beautiful greenhouse. Our son really enjoyed their hands on display about how chocolate is made from cacao nuts.
Since yesterday morning, we've added two weekend events: a women's luncheon in Farmington Hills for Nicole by a supporting church and my speaking this Sunday night at the evening service of First Pres. of Trenton, Michigan.
Our 16 month old had another incisor tooth pierce through today and another incisor can be felt beneath the gums.
