Awesome Sunday

I took the bus with Emma, as there wasn't enough room in our old car for all 6 of us. It was good to be in our church again with 3 generations of Ferias.

Serge gave a dynamite sermon on the meaning of Passover, as our church will have a Passover Seder this coming Saturday. Despite translating from French to English for my parents, I remember quite a bit of his talk. At the end of it, he talked about his desire that our worship services go into a deeper encounter with God. That's the kind of direction from the senior pastor that we need. Go Serge!

The worship was excellent as well. We did one song written by Emmanuel Peletan, another one of the 20 somethings rising in leadership at our church. I still hear the words on my head:

Plus que tout au monde
Plus que tout au monde
Tu es celui pour que je vis
Plus que tout.

Roughly translated, it is "more than anything in the world (2 times), you are the one for whom I live above all else."

We had a houseful this afternoon. Guillaume & Delali Apedo (a couple from Togo) brought a Mexican meal over to our place. We got to know them while working with the Alpha Course together in 2001. We had them, Alain Fonte, Francis & Diane Dognon and their 4 kids, plus another one named Jean, as well as my parents. We had a special time of prayer and laying on of hands on my mother.
