Family & Strawberry Milkshakes
This morning I'm working on a newsletter at home. My office is next to the living room/dining room. My parents are with us for 2 weeks from Colorado, so I hear the noises of 3 generations of us chattering in the next room.
Strawberries are in season now. Yesterday Nicole and my dad went to the local outdoor market and bought a boatload of fruit: strawberries, apples, oranges, grapes, and bananas. While some things are cheaper in the U.S., fruits and vegetables definitely are not, especially when purchased at our weekly Thursday and Sunday morning local market.
As I type, I'm sipping a milk shake that Nicole made with the extremely ripe strawberries. It's sweet, cool taste is one of those simple things in life that God has created for us to enjoy. So is the love between generations of a family. I'll miss watching and hearing the interaction between the grandparents and their grandkids when they return to the U.S. next week.
