Paris Beach (Paris Plage)
We did a family outing today to downtown Paris to check out Paris Plage. From July 21 to August 21, the quais of Paris are transformed into beaches with palm trees, a swimming pool, chaise lounge chairs, snack and drink stands, warm sand with beach volleyball courts, etc. This year's theme is Brazil.
It's good to see our tax dollars going in part for fun community projects like this one. It is fun to be here this year for it, as we're often in our home country at during this time of the year on Home Ministry Assignment.
We arrived there in the later morning under grey skies, then rain. We had hot dogs and fries on the Right Bank under an umbrella and with a view of Ile de la Cité and Ile St. Louis. Afterwards, the skies cleared up, the sun came out, and it was a beautiful afternoon.
Our kids especially enjoyed a children's area with sand, plastic pails and shovels, slides, a pirate ship, and adult monitors.
