Christmas Eve, Ministroke

In France, Christmas Eve is often celebrated more than Christmas day. For us, it's been a lowkey day at home, with preparations for having guests over the Christmas lunch after church. This is one of those years where December 25 falls on a Sunday.

In talking with my wife yesterday, we concluded that we like spreading out the gifts (especially those for the kids) over a number of days. By doing this, they are able to appreciate each gift more, rather than getting everything at once.

I got to play with the kids a lot today. They love the bouncy balls that they opened yesterday. Fortunately, our downstairs neighbors are away, as both kids have been bouncing a lot today. Today they opened a 140 piece kitchen set of foods (all in plastic).

My father-in-law telephoned tonight saying that he had to admit my mother-in-law into a hospital today. She had her 2nd mini-stroke in 2 weeks, to it was highly recommended that she be observed overnight. They are currently in Colorado with my wife's sister and family. She hasn't been in great health since I've known here, so anything like this is a concern.
