Ear Ache, Cold Spell in France
We keep our 4 year old home from school today. His ear pain was diagnosed by his doctor this afternoon as being a pretty strong ear infection. Ironically, in the Sesame Street video "Elmo Visits the Doctor" that we got the kids so they wouldn't be afraid of medical visits, Elmo also has an ear ache. While I first thought that our son was just imitating Elmo's condition, I now see it as possibly being caused by his new discovery of swimming underwater, as well as the weird coldspell that we've had this week.
Speaking of cold, it feels like the Ice Age is coming to Paris this week. We've unpacked and used our space heater, which is weird for the end of May. Bummer for all the tourists who came with summer wear only.
Can't believe we should be in Michigan in 3 weeks!! It will be good to see some of our stateside family and friends again. We're blessed by God to have friends both in the U.S. and in France (as well as other places too). We got another Sunday dinner invitation today from some friends at church, who also have another newborn in their home. Fui and her son Vadim (whose 2 year old birthday party we recently went to) came by this afternoon and offered yellow and orange flowers to my wife.
I'm a little frustrated a not having been able to make further progress on our video than I would have liked to during the last couple of days. Hopefully Claire's arrival from Michigan on May 31 will free up some more time for this project.
