Packing bags

It's nearly 2:00 a.m. and we're nearly done with our packing for our flight in 12 more hours. We have an airport pickup at 9:30 a.m. and a 2:00 p.m. flight to Detroit. This will get easier, I assume, when the kids are older and can pack their own bags. No matter how hard we try ahead of time to get ready, it always is a rush the last night before a trip. Coming back is generally easier, as we are just trying to squeeze everything in, so it doesn't have to be neat or organized. But when going, my wife likes to pack neatly.

Several French friends and my wife's mother telephoned and wished us well on our journey. Hard to believe that we'll be in the U.S. in 24 hours.
