St Lucia buns / Ice skating / Raclette supper

Today's events have had more variety for us than most days hold.

I dropped Nicole off just after 8:00 a.m. for an exam of her right knee by an orthopaedic specialist. The exam ended up going well and concluding that she doesn't need knee surgery. The doctor believes that the tiredness in her tendons is primarily due to having to still carry our 10 month around. As the baby gets more independent in her mobility, then my wife won't need to lift her as much and would save some wear and tear on her knee.

While she was at the exam, Anne had our oldest two kids make St. Lucia buns. Today is St. Lucia day. St. Lucia is apparently important in Norway, which is one of the countries of Anne's ancestors. The kids had a blast making them and Anne has left the recipe with us, so this might become an annual tradition in our Advent schedule. It's another example of how our family is blessed by our contact with friends from other backgrounds.

I did some Fonderie related work in creating a final balance sheet for the November 17 and 18 events with Steve Turner and David Durham. I also did some work on the blog of le Pavé d'Orsay and continued creating the list of registered guests for the December 19 Christmas event of le Pavé d'Orsay.

After the kids napped this afternoon, we took the bus downtown to Hotel de Ville. My wife, Anne, and the two oldest kids rented ice skates and went skating. While they glided on the ice, I snapped digital photos and shot some video while holding our 10 month old in a front carry pack. My wife has been wanting to ice skate here for years and finally had her opportunity.

Like the Paris Beach in August, this skating rink is a good initiative on behalf of the City of Paris. It's a lot of fun for everyone.

Tonight we had Erin from Trenton over for a raclette supper. Both she and Anne are schueduled to leave France this Friday to return to the U.S. She also has been a help to us and we'll miss her presence in Parus,

We're blessed to h

I'm super tired now, I'll close.
