Prayer for Artists at in the Shadow of the Place of the Bastille

Tonight I attended a prayer meeting for artists. This weekend is the worldwide weekend of prayer for artists. Jim Beise of the Founderie coordinated the evening. There were about 20 of us from Europe, Africa, South America, North America, and Oceania.

It was held at the Reformed Church of the Marais in Paris. This is around 100 yards from the Bastille Place where the French Revolution was said to have started in 1789. The church has a dynamic young pastor named Gilles Boucomont who shared a little about the church. It's a really old building with ornate architecture on the inside.

During the evening, Isabelle came to the center of the church and prayed that France come out of its frozen state. She mentioned that the cold weather that we're currently having was symbolic of the spiritual state of France. We prayed for a spiritual revolution, which was interesting to do in a place so close to the Bastille.

It was a good evening with people with a common vision for artists and the arts.

I think that the Marais Reformed Church will be an important church in what God will do in France. I would love to visit it on a Sunday sometime.
