La Fonderie--Week 2

Today and this week have been super busy. With Torrents of Hope, the Fonderie, and Alpha Lounge Sat night youth service all running this month, there just is a lot of time out. Yesterday and today we worked on a autumn newscard, which also gives our Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's wishes. Anne, a possible intern from Wheaton, arrives tomorrow morning and leaves 2 days later. She's coming to check out the scene and will be staying with us. We're sending back our mail with her, which is another reason why this week is so busy.

Tonight was week 2 of La Fonderie. Attendance was down a little bit, around 30 participants. I speculate that the fact that this week is a school vacation and that Monday and Tuesday coming up are bridge holidays (All Saints Day) is one of the main reasons.

But it was a great night. Angela Beise talked about how difficulties and trials are meant to build character, something that God is more concerned about that just our comfort.

One of the participant's parents came with him. During the prayer time, I saw his arm draped over his mother's shoulder. I was thrilled for him, yet a little jealous too.
