Busy administrative day

Today is racing by. I'm waiting for my wife to drop off our baby here and to head off for an appointment with her physical therapist. She's going a number of times to help build up her body after having delivered the baby two months ago. But she's coming from the pediatric doctor, whose giving the baby her two month checkup.

Today has been speed, speed, speed. I've already been to our son's school 3 times by car to drop him off (twice) and pick him up (once). I'll need to go back on foot in 30 minutes to take him to his swim class. This is enjoyable for both of us, and allows us to meet some others in the neighborhood.

Today has also entailed:
--Talking with our son's teacher Nagette, then meeting with our son's school principal Sylvie to learn of ways to get more adapted to the French language. She told us that our oldest daughter had been accepted there for next year. We appreciate very much all they do for the kids at the school.:-)
--Talking over the phone with JIm Beise about the Open Doors of Belleville May event and some other Fonderie issues.
--Talking with the U.S. consulate and setting up and appointment to register our baby daughter for her passport, birth certificate, and social security card. Due to 9/11, things are much stricter now regarding all these issues. In a couple of weeks, my wife and I will need to go in together with the baby to apply for these. More paperwork, which fortunately can be downloaded off the Internet now, saving at least one trip.
--Looking at our old visa applications from 2000 in order to try to help Tricia, a future Belleville intern who is also joining our organization. She'll need the right papers to smooth over this process.
--Dropping off 3 thank you notes from our son's birthday party in the mailboxes of his classmates.
--Writing a letter to the city hall requesting the paperwork to apply for the renewal of our residence cards. Right now, we need to do this every year. Hopefully we'll get a 10 year card sometime.

There also is lots of paperwork to do, but this month has even more, including U.S. and French income taxes. Not much fun, but important to get done timely and correctly.

I'm thankful for God's giving me some administrative gifting to help with all this stuff. We trust that God will help us keep ahead of the game with all this.
