La Fonderie's 5th and final March session on "inspiration"
It's been a super busy day in our household. My wife worked with Anne on rearranging clothes for our children to/from different storage bins (based on age and size). Our apartment was quite a messy sight before they finished this arduous task. But it needed to get done.
Becca helped me with our spring newscard mailing preparation. She basically did all the stamping after I printed the address labels directly on the cards. She'll then carry them over in her luggage and post them in the U.S., which will save us a fortune in postage.
We took a lunch break to have crêpes (something that Becca loves). Yesterday our 2 oldest helped mix the batter. We took an afternoon snack break to have a chocolate mousse cake and belatedly celebrate Anne's birthday.
Our 2 year old wasn't at full strength today. In the later afternoon, she had a high temperature and was lethargic. I ended up leaving for la Fonderie later than usual, then leaving the meeting during the talk. I was sorry to have missed it, as Jim Beise was talking about how to be an inspiration to others.
However, it was a very good evening there. I was concerned because there were very few people there at 8:00 p.m., the official starting time. However, people started streaming in. Some were Fonderie veterans, while there were also some first-timers. There was a very collegial spirit there, which is something that we want to see happen. Manno, a Japanese classical singer whom we knew from St. Michael's days, was there tonight.
I'm always relieved at the end of each series, at it is a sacrifice to be out this many evenings from home. However, I think that some headway was made during the course of this series. We'll need discernment about how and where to do much future series.
