Visit to St. Michael's Church

One activity that we've wanted to do, but haven't done, is visit some other churches to see what is happening in other congregations in Paris. Therefore, we enjoyed getting to worship at the 11:15 a.m. service of the Word at St. Michael's Anglican Church of Paris (75008).

We have a long history with St. Michael's. I started attending there on Sunday evenings in 1994 at the invitation of Karen Nelson. I was mentored by Andrew Warburton, one of its former vicars. I met my wife there on the November 1, 1996 house party/retreat held at a nunnery in LaPuye, France near Poitiers. We had a wedding blessing ceremony in fall of 1997, then I worked there that 1996-7 school year.

Unfortunately, we haven't had many opportunties to get back there since our return to France in 2000. Our last Sunday service was the Christmas carol and reading service in December 2001, just before our son was born. We also attended the wedding of Rodolfo and Sandra (Hall) Ochangco in summer 2003.

In the film Peter's Friends, Peter the host gives a toast with the following words: "To old friends who should see each other more often. This is how we feel about many of our friends at St. Michael's and other places in France. It was good to see Tony Shebaya, Margaret Lamure, Anne Alric, Bunmi Rolland, Ranata Moore, Connie Glessner, etc.
