Circus Visit in Paris
This afternoon we went to the circus in Paris. While there were a number of different circuses in Paris, we chose the Diana Moreno Bormann circus in the 19th district near the Porte d'Aubervilliers.
It was the first time at the circus for either of our kids. My wife and I hadn't been to the circus since we were kids. So it was a lot of fun. We received a surprise gift from our friends at Christ the King Evangelical Free Church yesterday, so we used part of it to splurge on front row seats. Thanks Pastor Bruce & Sharon Ebersole and friends at CTK. It was a great treat.
I was impressed with how well coordinate the show ran. It was a good example of teamwork, as everyone worked together, whether one was up front for one scene or moving props in the the next scene. It would be great to see local churches with such coordinated efforts and teamwork.
I bought the flashing light wands for the kids during the intermission. My one big memory from going the circus as a child was my dad purchasing something similar for me. It probably only cost $1-$2 back then. But it's funny how it's often the small investments of time and money that create positive memories that one can recall 40 years later. I hope that my kids will have warm memories of shared experiences with mom and dad 40 years from now. As the commercial for MasterCard reminds us, these experiences are "priceless."
