Zidane's last game

Tonight I watched "les Bleus," France's national men's soccer team, defeat Mexico's team in an exhibition match on TV. The primary reason why I wanted to watch this match was that it was Zinedane Zidane's final game in France as a member of "les Bleus."

He initially retired 1 or 2 years ago from "les Bleus." He wanted to leave in his prime (or mostly in his prime, in my opinion). However, France had some problems qualifying, so Zidane, Claude Maekelele, and Liliam Thurum all returned from retirement and successfully helped France qualify for next month's World Cup finals in Germany.

I've been privileged in my lifetime to have gotten to watch some of the greatest athletes of all time in their sports. I remember Magic Johnson when he was still just a high school player in Lansing, Michigan and won the state championship his senior year. I remember Michael in his early years with the Chicago Bulls when I was studying at Wheaton. I remember Tom Brady when he was recruited as a quarterback at U of Michigan and when people wanted "the other quarterback" (Drew Henson) instead of him to start.

Zidane has been a privilege to watch over the years. He is just a magicien with a soccer ball. It's sad to see him declining a little bit already, even though he still is an outstanding player. He doesn't manifest any ego problems and appears to be humble and straightforward with everyone.

I was able to start learning how to create videos today. While I'll be embarassed about my video of today, I'm thankful for the understanding and practice that I could make today.
