Setting Up Photos for Opening Night

I'm writing again from le Pavé d'Orsay, where I've been the last 5 hours. After our weekly team meeting, I've been here helping get the art studio ready for the exposition of photos by Simone Tavares. I've swept the floor, cleaned the window and a table, and tried to help with hanging photos and adjusting the lights.

The vernissage is scheduled to start in 45 minutes (6:00 p.m.). Right now the space is empty of people except for me. It looks great, with 15 of Simone's photos in primarily red, white, and blue of glimpses of different parts of the Arch de Triomphe. The exhibit is called "Les champs rouge et or" ("the fields red and gold").

Her mother described Simone as a "painter who did photos as paintings." Her photos do look like paintings, for which I'm curious as to how she did that. Whatever they are, she appears to be a gifted artist. I expect that we may have more drop in visitors for this exhibit than we had for the previous two. This one definitely has a French feel to it, while the previous two had an African feel.

I imagine that I would be a proud daddy if one of my children had an art exposition of painting or photography or a dance or music recital or whatever.

I've enjoyed being around yesterday and today to see what setting up for an exhibit requires. It's a lot more time than I had previously realized.

May God's Kingdom come and will be done during this opening night and during this art exhibit! May it help us get further integrated into this section of Paris and with the artistic community in Paris.
