IT Conference--Part 2
It's was rainy afternoon in DeBron, so I'm glad that we didn't sightsee today like a good portion of our group did. It was a nice break to have the afternoon and evening with no conference meetings.
We had a good breakfast meeting with Rick Knox (one of our advisors) and I had another good meeting with Jim Miller (our new primary advisor).
We had supper with Eileen Smith-Bettig and her husband Harry. Eileen used to work in Paris with IT. I told her about the singles retreat where she ended up meeting her future husband. But they still haven't paid me my 5% finder's fee of all wedding gifts. We are happy for her, as she seems much more at peace and in the right role and location for her.
It's been good to be at this conference, especially for the networking with colleagues here. I even have run into some people with another organization also at DeBron this week who work in Paris and other places.
Our guest speaker, Dutchman Otto DeBruijne, has given an interesting series of talks on the Lord's Prayer and its relation to missions in Europe. He is a pastor and visual artist who I would love to be able to link into the art ministry in Paris. Both he and his wife Renée have Huguenot heritage. His web site is www.ottodebruijne.nl.
