The Price Is Right

Earlier this evening we got to see our friends Kyle, Jade, and Hayley Price. They are from my home church in New Jersey. We've seen them on visits to France about as much as anyone. At the Mission Radicale July 2003 conference, Kyle (the mom) led a team of 6 students, including her children Griffith, Jade, and Colin. She's a former French major who has passed on her love for France to her children and others.

I had our car serviced at the local Speedy dealer in preparation for our trip to the Netherlands for the IT-Europe conference. As usual, there was something that needed repaired or changed. This time it was the front brake plates that were 90% worn out. But the bill was the cheapest that we've had in awhile from Speedy. Brakes are not something that you mess with. The car ran great when I drove it home.

I was in the church office to run photocopies and to talk to several key leaders regarding the offer of a videoprojector that a church in Florida has on the table. This church sent a team to help at the Open Doors of Belleville outreach in May. I'm the middleman in the whole process. It's interesting hearing different responses of people here. Some are more conservative about getting it, wanting to talk it through with the church council before making a decision. Ironically, one of the younger and more progressive council members asked what the hesitation was and wanted me to give the Florida church a YES right away. We'll see how it all works out. But I doubt that the council will turn down a free machine.

I expect that the new technological advice will breed other technological changes in the church as people see how many ways that a videoprojector can be used.
