Eating Out
Yesterday we had lunch with Jane Ewing from Illinois. We were introduced by a common friend, Marcia Poore of LaGrange Bible Church. Jane and Marcia teach in the same public high school. She is in Paris for a good part of this summer to learn French.
Jane treated us to an Asian lunch at a restaurant just around the corner from our place. It was a blessing to get to know her a little bit at this time. She teaches music and leads orchestras at a high school.
We had lunch today with Tony Shebaya, along with Buffy and Edith, a couple of his friends. We met Tony at St. Michael's Church a number of years ago. He's a Lebanese believer and long-termer in Paris. Nicole helped make ends meet our first year in Paris by cleaning his apartment each week. He's a walking miracle, as he probably shouldn't be alive today, due to some major health problems that he has.
Tony is one of those people whom we would like to see more often. Unfortunately, in the craziness of Paris life, we don't get to see him very often. That's one of the challenges of having been involved in a number of different churches. We went again to St. Michael's this morning in order to be able to meet up with Tony. While there, we also saw our friend Karen Nelson, another former ministry colleague from the Communauté Evangélique Parisienne (CEP).
We had lunch at an Italian restaurant called Il Teatro (3, Place Charles Michels, 75015 Paris, Mo: Charles Michels). It was a beautiful day, so we ate outside on the terrace. It was like having a playland for the kids.
