Live from Omaha, Nebraska

After 2 long travel days, we arrived this evening in Omaha, Nebraska. We drove 800+ miles. We're staying with Brad, Patty & Matthew Eaton. Brad and I met at Wheaton Grad School in 1986 when we were 20 somethings. It has been good to meet Patty and their 15 month old son Matthew, who is originally from Latin America.

The drive up through Utah, then across most of Wyoming on I-80 was very beautiful. There were lots of interesting rock formations. While on a winding highway in Utah, we saw a deer cross the road and had to slow down for a cow crossing it.

We stayed at a Days Inn last night in Sidney in western Nebraska. We usually stay at Holiday Inns, but this hotel impressed us with its service, price, good breakfast bar, and nice room. Our son and oldest daughter also liked its pool and hottub. We may be trying other Days Inns when travelling.

The car air conditioning unit started to make some noise today, so I'll need to get that checked out tomorrow, as well as get the oil changed.
