Live from Caldwell, New Jersey

Yesterday (Monday) early afternoon we arrived at the house in Caldwell. 3 years ago the kids called it the "green house," as it is the color green. We were blessed to be welcomed by David (head of the missions team) and his 2 sons, who helped us move upstairs. This apartment is nicer than the downstairs one where we stayed in 1999 and 2004. Teresa (missions team member) had the beds made and had purchased some food, which also was a nice surprise. We ordered take out from an Asian restaurant that is linked with the one where we used to love to go 3 years ago.

It's fun to be back in my old NJ stomping grounds.

We stopped by the church this afternoon and ran into Jerry and Eleanor B. (the former music ministers at the church, as well as former France workers), as well as the Olsen family, whom I worked with in the youth group 23 years ago.

Tonight we had supper with the missions team, the interim senior pastor, and a couple of the elders and their families. It was good to be with them.

Tomorrow is July 4. We'll probably go to Verona to spend it with the Meyers, who greatly helped us 3 years ago in practical ways, like picking us up at the airport when we got stuck on Christmas Eve.
