Thank you Becca
Before our 3rd child arrived, we already knew that we would have our hands full. 3 little ones and just two adults. As we thought of help, Becca came to mind. She's the daughter of MaryAnne, whom I grew up with in Michigan. MaryAnne is just a year younger than me and we've been friends since junior high. She even dated my younger brother when in high school. Her husband Mark was an usher in our wedding.
I've known Becca since she was a toddler. Mark and MaryAnne have done a great job raising their 5 children (who include 2 sets of twins, of which Becca has a twin brother Matt). Becca has always impressed me with the maturity that she has displayed at whatever age she has been. When I was in Michigan for the wedding of Randy and Barbara this past November, I got to sit with their whole family at the wedding and reception.
And so, when I proposed to Mark and MaryAnne that Becca come for a month, Becca jumped at the opportunity. She is home schooled in high school, so she has more flexibility to do this type of project than someone in traditional schooling. Her parents have bravely confided their daughter into our hands for this month.
Becca has already been a help during the past 3 days that she's been here. Yesterday she helped me with our son's swim class. Today she accompanied me and the older two kids to visit the zoo. She's also been a help around the house and is a very easy guest. Her help this month is one of the special gifts that we have been praying about.
