LIve from Hermann, Missouri
Last Thursday we went to the Omaha Zoo all day. The kids especially enjoyed this wonderful establishment.
On Friday we drove from Omaha, Nebraska to Overland Park, Kansas to see Nicole's childhood friend Julie. We met her fiance Jonathan and got to attend a country fair. The kids enjoyed seeing live cows, pigs, kangaroos, etc. We stayed that night with Bob and Laura, whom we had never met before and whom were wonderful hosts.
On Saturday we drove to Columbia, Missouri and had lunch with Ulus. We then continued driving east, then south until Hermann, Missouri, where my former language school classmates Tom and Diana now live and help lead a start up church. They now have eight children, after having just one when we were in Albertville, France together starting 18 years ago.
We went to their church, Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church this morning. We hit a bonanza Sunday, as there was a church luncheon, followed by an afternoon together on a lake. It was nice to see a church in a different type of area than what I'm used to. The lake was terrific as well.
Tomorrow we head toward Lawrenceville, Georgia, a suburb hortheast of Atlanta, by Tuesday afternoon. We'll be visited our friends Rick and Kim and their sons Toby and Tyler. To contact us from Tuesday evening through Friday morning, telephone us at the Emches at +1 (678) 376-9425. Tomorrow night we'll probably stay in a hotel.
